Kulture and Kayaks

After parting with Will, Bree and Wes who were off to attend the wedding, Richard, Jocelyn and I strolled the town. There are many wonderful art galleries in Ganges. We discovered an original A.Y. Jackson in one gallery for sale at $55,000; many original Genn paintings and a new artist we discovered named Michael Hames who really impressed Richard. Also saw many Shadbolt paintings and Bateman pencil drawings. A wonderful antiquarian book store, Sabine's, houses the Griffin & Sabine room where the author is in residence most Saturdays from noon onward.

After our dose of culture, we returned to the boat to try out the new toy we bought at Friday Harbor. Jocelyn, who has just joined a kayak club, volunteer to christen the new inflatable. But first, much work in hand-pumping....

Now you tell me that you have an electrical pump!

And now they're off!

Remarkably no one got wet! We had a great pasta dinner aboard and watched a movie. In the late evening we welcomed aboard 3 friends of Will's from college days who were also attending the wedding and could not find a B&B to house them. So, now we have proven that not only does the house have elastic sides -- so does the boat!

This Sunday morning after fresh coffee all round, Will, Bree and Wesley came down from their B&B to join the fun.
